What Does Belkyra™ Address?

The active ingredient in Belkyra™ is a synthetic form of deoxycholic acid (a naturally occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of fat).

Belkyra™ targets and eliminates fat cells when injected into the area under your chin.

Belkyra™ gradually improves your chin profile over a number of treatment sessions customized by your treating physician.

Belkyra™ might be right for you if:

You are bothered by fullness under the chin

You eat well and exercise, but the fullness under your chin does not go away

Who Should Not Receive Treatment with Belkyra™?

Pregnant or lactating women, as well as anyone who has had an allergic reaction to the drug or any of its active ingredients. Belkyra™ cannot be used if you have an infection in the muscles or an open wound/area of the skin where it would normally be injected. Safety and effectiveness in patients below the age of 18 years has not been established. Patients with excessive skin laxity should not be treated with Belkyra™.

Side Effects

Common and minor side effects include:

Redness, local irritation, swelling, itching, discomfort/tenderness, pain in treated area, minor bruising at the injection sites, warm sensation, numbness (can last a couple months), risk of infection, and headache.
The swelling, bruising, redness, and discomfort may last a few days - although swelling can last up to several weeks.

Rare side effects include:

Allergic reaction (including anaphylaxis), trouble swallowing, nerve injury (symptoms like uneven smile).

How Much Does Treatment with Belkyra™ Cost?

Treatment plans are customized and unique to you. At Beauty Within, Belkyra™ treatments are calculated on a “per vial” basis. A consultation is required in order to determine the amount of product required. Depending upon the amount of sub-mental (under chin) fat you have (mild, moderate or severe), more product may be required, thus increasing price.
