Moles are generally benign lesions that you may wish to remove for cosmetic reasons. They may interfere with the wearing of eyeglasses, jewellery or possibly bleed when shaving. In our office we treat/remove a wide variety of growths and spots that, although not serious, are of cosmetic concern to our patients. Different treatment methods are used depending on the type of lesion and its location. Therefore it is essential to have a correct and proper diagnosis of any lesion before treatment is chosen.
To find out if mole removal is right for you, please contact our knowledgeable staff at Synergy Centre by calling 519-266-3641, for your complimentary consultation. Dr. Maria Tetelbaum will be able to provide you with all of the information you need to make the most informed decision.
Cryotherapy treatment refers to the removal of skin lesions by freezing them, with the most commonly used agent being liquid nitrogen.
Liquid nitrogen can be used to treat a wide variety of superficial benign lesions. However, the freezing procedure is best suited for removing viral warts, actinic keratosis (an area of sun-damaged skin found predominantly on sun-exposed parts of the body), seborrhoeic keratoses and other benign lesions. In some instances, 1 to 4 treatments may be required with 1 – 3 weeks between each treatment.
As with any treatment that we offer, we encourage prospective patients to come in and take advantage of our informative pretreatment consultations, where they can receive a thorough diagnosis and discuss all questions and concerns that they may have.
