Botox is a very popular treatment for a few reasons. However, there are some misconceptions about what it does and does not do, who should receive the treatment, and more. Beauty Within, located within Synergy Centre, offers a discreet and private environment where all our clients - male and female - feel at ease in a comfortable setting.
Dr. Maria Tetelbaum offers a complimentary consultation to address all your questions and discuss a customized treatment program to obtain the best non-surgical result specifically for you.
Fact – It may help you in the long term if you can get “a head start.” Botox is being used more and more by those attempting to do “preventative” treatments. If you wait until the lines are already etched into the skin, it will mean it is a lot more difficult to smooth their appearance again. By using Botox in a preventative way, it means that people and their muscles will learn not to make certain facial expressions like squinting and scowling, that create lines. Making fewer of these facial expressions might actually mean you need less Botox or need it less often in the future.
Fact – This isn’t true. In fact, they will just go back to how they were before treatment. “Botox will prevent your wrinkles from worsening while you keep up with your treatments. If you decide to stop having Botox treatments, you will slowly lose the relaxing effect of Botox and will resume the normal development of wrinkles with movement. Botox will not make your wrinkles worsen.
Fact – As you get older it may be that age is just a number. But if you’re a teen, your doctor will likely tell you that you are not ready for the treatment. Botox is ideally used for lines that are there due to constant muscle movement. If you’re only 18, for example, it’s unlikely you’ll have residual lines after movement. When you’re in your early 20s, you may begin to see them.
Fact – Botox is used for a lot more than just cosmetics. Injections have been used for therapeutic management of excessive sweating [ hyperhidrosis] , chronic migraines, eyelid twitching, and more.
Fact – Actually, it’s definitely for anyone - men & women. Botox is now commonly referred to as “Brotox” because more and more men are in line for treatment. More and more men today are concerned with their appearance as well as the aging process.
